Student Admissions for Class IX:

1. The Education Sector, Dzongkhag Administration will place the Class VIII passed students of Wangdue Lower Secondary School to class IX after verifying the students’ genuineness in the placement. The students list for admission must be received from the Dzongkhag. However, the availability of the seats will also determine the in take capacity of the school which currently has only 5 sections of class IX (34 X 5 = 170) which will also include the Class IX failures.

2. Direct (children) students of the civil service/arm forces on transferred cases will also be admitted on producing the transfer order or transcript as required for admission formalities. The school will keep a few seats as provision when working out the seat projection for class IX.

3. The students admitted will compulsorily need to fill in the Bio Data form issued by the school and maintain a personal file. The personal file will have to be brought by the student concerned and the following documents required to complete the admission formalities are to be enclosed:

a) The Bio data dully filled in by the student.
b) Photocopies of Mark sheet and Certificate of Class VIII.
c) Original copy of the Transfer/Character certificate issued by previous school.
d) Photocopies of parents’ ID cards.

Student Admissions for Class XI:

1. The admission to class XI in all 3 streams will be done in line with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education and also according to the Admission Interview dates announced. The cut off marks or percentage for admission to class XI will also be announced by the Ministry of Education. As in the past few years, the choice of the stream will be determined on merit basis and on producing of ID card on the day of the Admission Interview. Once the seats are filled during the Admission Interview day no changes will be entertained even with letters from Education Headquarters. Example; once the seats for science stream is filled during the Admission Interview day, additional admission after the Admission Interview day be it with better merit or producing of ID card or letter from Education HQ will not be entertained. No student will be admitted in class XI without citizenship ID card.


2. The students admitted in class XI (all streams) compulsorily need to fill in the Bio Data form issued by the school and maintain a personal file. The personal file will have to be brought by the student concerned and the following documents required to complete the admission formalities are to be enclosed:

a. The Bio data dully filled in by the student.
b. Photocopies of Mark sheet and Certificate of Class X.
c. Original copy of the Transfer/Character certificate issued by previous school.
d. A photocopy of the Individual ID card.
e. Photocopies of parents’ ID cards.


Student Admissions for Class X & XII:

3. No admission will be done for class X (BCSE) and XII (BHSEC) as the students have already registered in class IX for X (BCSE) and XI for XII (BHSEC) in the academic year 2006. This is in line with the Circular # MOE/BBE/Adm-6/2006/5507 dated 13 March 2006 of the Secretary of Examinations, Bhutan Board of Examinations, Ministry of Education, Thimphu. Admission will be rendered if a letter from the BBE is produced on the change of registration for the BCSE & BHSEC mainly on parental transfers or medical grounds.


Student Admissions as boarders:

Student admissions as boarders will only be accepted for Classes XI & XII and for those students staying more than 7 kilometers distance from school or walking more than one hour to school.
